Perancea Takes On Hammond Enclosures & New Area Sales Representative
Perancea, the electronics shielding and enclosures specialist, is announcing its appointment as a representative for Hammond Manufacturing, taking on sales for the brand’s enclosures. Perancea has also appointed Mike West, previously of Hammonds, as an enclosure specialist sales representative for the South East & Home Counties region. As part of the agreement with Hammond, new products added to the Perancea range include Eddystone diecast aluminium boxes, West Hyde Clipper series miniature hand held boxes and the West Hyde Sink Box range of extruded aluminium cases.

Latest products from Hammond include slim line hand held and improved general purpose small plastic enclosures, as well as extruded aluminium enclosures with an integral heat sink. Hammond’s 1455 range of extruded aluminium enclosures now features slim line units designed to accept one or two circuit boards, mounted horizontally and directly slotting into the walls of the housing. Design features include a rounded profile to fit comfortably in the hand or slide easily into a pocket. Plastic bezels at each end of the enclosure incorporate a flat panel area for switches, indicator lights and other front panel furniture.
Improved general purpose IP54 rated small plastic enclosures from Hammond come in a range of seven sizes from 87x57x36mm to 221x150x60mm, optimised for horizontally mounting PCBs. They are moulded in UL94V-0 flame retardant ABS plastic and attractively satin finished. Four stand-offs are moulded into the top and base which features plain sides for easy connector installation. Lids come in plain and flanged versions, and these fit to the base via a tongue and groove arrangement that provides IP54 protection against dust and water. The flanged lids can be used to secure the enclosure to a wall or other surface whilst also providing security against inadvertent disassembly as the screw heads are then inaccessible.
Hammond’s extended range of 24 Eddystone thin walled die-cast aluminium enclosures now include three new sizes and a further two reduced height variants. Eddystone enclosures are robust, providing excellent EMC performance and good mechanical protection. Versions range in size from 50x50x25mm to 188x120x82mm. Since acquiring the die cast enclosures from GEC Marconi in 1998, Hammond has continued to enhance and invest in the range, making Eddystone arguably the best known brand of die-cast enclosures on the market.
